As you can see, it was such a success! Haha, can you sense my sarcasm?!?! He hated the sand, hated the water, and pretty much hated everything about the beach!
He threw a fit so bad that he plopped down into the sand and got it all over him. Joel tried to wash it off with a bucket and I think at that point we decided that maybe it was time to head to the pool!
Ahhh, happiness again!
He was daring and swam in the middle of the pool by himself. Of course, we were VERY close by!
We had beautiful weather all week. Not a cloud in the sky until our last day. Can't beat that!
You can probably tell from the pictures, but we had the place to ourselves. That's one of the reasons I love going to Sand Cliffs because it is like that a lot. It is just quiet, which is the way I like it! Of course, towards the end of the week, it got crowded and actually made it more fun for Hudson because he could watch the other kids.
After naps and a trip to Seaside for ice cream, it was back to the pool for the afternoon. We didn't even attempt the beach again. We stayed out pretty late and then cooked in that night. Here is Hudson playing football in the courtyard while Daddy cooked--all cleaned up and having a blast!
Wednesday morning started with another long walk and then a trip to the pool. We got the noodle out this time and Hudson loved it. Really, he liked just banging it against the water. He thought that was so funny.
He wouldn't let anyone touch HIS noodle. Here he is treating it like a shop vac--one of his favorite toys!
Wednesday afternoon we headed to Sandestin to the outlets for a little while to get a few things. Of course, while shopping, Hudson had a tummy ache and messed up his cute clothes, and I had not packed another set. Good thing we were shopping. However, I had a really hard time finding anything in Hudson's size that would work! I settled on this little outfit below and let's just say it was a little large on him! Gotta love the bottom hanging out!
We ate at Louisiana Lagniappe in Destin, which by the way was delish and had a great view, and was an absolute little boy's dream with all the boats and ducks to look at. We sat outside and enjoyed the view and had a great time.
Thursday was our last full day and I was determined to get in some beach time! I just decided that he could throw a fit if he wanted to, but I was going down there anyway! Much to my surprise, this was how Thursday went...
HAPPY!!!!!!!!!
This time, I plopped him on a towel, brought down his fire truck, garbage truck, and police car, among the thousand sand toys that we lugged down time after time, and he was happy as a clam!
We built sandcastles and played and it was so much fun!
We definitely had a breakthrough. Of course, it had to come on the last day! Oh well.
Some other little boys were catching fish and other stuff from the ocean and putting it in their bucket, so Joel took Hudson over to it to look into it.
