Obsessed

Hudson is obsessed with his backpack! He wants to carry it around everywhere. If we are out and about, he is wearing it and will throw a fit when you take it away. He has to hold it in his carseat too. When I drop him off at daycare, he just leaves it on. I have no idea how long it takes for them to get it off him. It is so funny. At one point I tried to take it away from him every time, but now it is just a battle that I don't want to have so that's that! I think he looks so cute with it on, but I can't help but see images of him walking to kindergarten when he has it on! That part is no fun to think about!

Here we are at home and wearing the backpack. I think at one time he realized that the backpack was where all the food and drinks were, but now he just likes to wear it and doesn't care about what is inside.

We had a really fun weekend. Friday night, we headed over to Ashley's (sis-in-law) and had pizza with her and Blaine. It was so good seeing them. We don't see them nearly enough anymore. Blaine just adores Joel (and Joel adores Blaine too!) so they had a great time playing football in the yard, and Joel got beat up in Wii by a 6 year old! Ashley and I just talked the night away and it was so fun! Of course, I took no pictures.

All this heat we've been having (and no rain) has killed off all the mosquitoes in our backyard so we can finally be back there without getting eaten alive again. Hudson loves being in the backyard and playing with the soccer ball and all the other little balls we have. He is also getting very good at playing keep away with our dog. He thinks it is so funny to run around in the yard with the ball with Chloe chasing him. So, we spent a lot of time outside this weekend (although it is still so hot!).

We went to the pool Saturday morning and had a good time. We put the pool bag outside to dry out when we got back and later that afternoon, Hudson went up to it and said, "pool, pool." We have such a smart boy! :)

Saturday night, we went over to our friends Cayce and Andrea's new house. They moved to a house just a few blocks from us so we couldn't wait to see it! It was beautiful, and of course I immediately was jealous of how their house looked. I love our house, but all the new and upgraded finishes in their house made me want that for ours! Oh well, isn't that always the case?!?! They cooked us a wonderful meal and we had such a great time hanging out with them, and some of our other friends that came as well! We took Hudson, which wasn't such a great idea, so I had to come on home around 8. I so wanted to stay, but he needed to go to bed. He had definitely reached his limit after staying up late on Friday night too! Joel ended up staying a little longer and had a great time hanging out with his buddies!

It was a great weekend!

Oh and news flash, a green bean went into Hudson's tummy tonight! We are thrilled! Ha! Ok, so it was a grean bean hidden in a casserole and he only took one bite of the casserole, but he took a bite and didn't spit it out so that is HUGE!!! Definitely blogworthy! Haha!
