August 2018

August started out with the best day of the year - my birthday! Haha, totally kidding (sort of). This year, we all went to Top Golf and then out to lunch to celebrate my birthday. It was such a fun day with our little family! Top Golf was a big hit!

We kept Roo Roo for a night too and had fun! We had not been to a park in forever, so we all enjoyed it! She let me braid her hair and insisted on a slumber party which resulted in musical beds that lasted 2 hours before she finally went to sleep! Oh to be the princess....

Harrison met his teacher, Mrs. Johnston! He was excited to be a Johnston's Jaguar and have a teacher who is a huge Auburn fan! He even had a few buddies in his class! She has proved to be one tough cookie, but is pushing Harrison big time! He is bringing home math homework that Joel and I can't even do! (and it's not due to common core, but that's a whole 'nother story!)

Hudson met his teachers too, but he was too cool to get a picture. Oh well, I knew those days weren't going to last forever. He started a new school this year for 4th grade and has two teachers, Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. Knain. He swaps classes for the first time and he's just real big now! :) He did not really know anyone in his class, but thankfully, it has been the best year! He will have to go to a different school next year for 5th grade due to re-zoning, but he's really enjoying being the last 4th grade ever at this school. Fun fact is that Joel was in the FIRST 4th grade in that school many many moons ago!

Our church had a back to school party for all the 4th graders going to their new school. Roller skating and ice cream with all his buds!

We had a bunch of landscaping done in our backyard in August and our sweet landscaper let Hudson take this machine all the way around to the back of our house. He was in heaven!

We prayed for a lot of rain during those weeks that we had almost our entire back yard sodded and got not one single day of it. August is NOT the month for landscaping! We survived though! And didn't faint when we saw our water bill! :)
