Lately

Gosh, it's been 2 weeks with no blog update. We have been busy, busy, busy! Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks.

I guess a couple of weeks ago was the week it rained literally every.single.day. It was awful! Hudson had Haines come play that Friday and I just let them be out in it. They had a blast. They were disgusting, but it was well worth it!

Cute boys ready for church one morning!

I had my big fundraising event at the library on Saturday night and we raised $16,000 for the children's department. We were so thrilled. It was a late night, but was well worth it! No pictures to show for it, but it was good!

Harrison finally got to play another soccer game last weekend and this week was WAY better than the first week. He was a lot more into it and wasn't running to the sideline every 5 seconds! He even got in on the action and was kicking the ball so well! He was pretty proud of himself.

Did I mention we had to bribe him into actually GOING to soccer?!?! Well, we did. Ice cream for dinner it was. We've never done that before...it sure worked wonders! Ha!

And then we figured out on Monday why he really didn't want to go...another dang ear infection! He's on the mend though.

The weather has been horrible lately so baseball has been a little sporadic. We had a game Sunday afternoon and this was the week they took the tee away. Hudson had not had to use the tee since the very first game of the season, but unfortunately, he struck out 2 out of the 3 times at bat on Sunday! It was SO sad! A lot of the boys struck out...all the moms were begging to have the tee brought back! It's just no fun to see your child upset!

Well, we had another game last night and he redeemed himself! He hit a HOME RUN!!!!!! He nailed it right down the first base line and it was awesome.

His sweet coach gave him the hustle award for the night too, and it literally made his entire season. We could not get him to calm down last night because he was so excited and proud of himself! We were proud of him too! But luckily for him, we're proud of him when he strikes out too! :)

I'm off to Cali in the morning for some R&R with Mom and Carrie and baby Roo (and Andres too!)! Can't wait to see them!!!

Sports Filled Weekend

We had such a good weekend last weekend. The weather was amazing and we spent most of our time outside, which was great since it has rained almost every day since! Everyone is happier when we can be outside.

Last Friday night we headed to the Barons game. It was so much fun!

The boys REALLY wanted to stay for the Friday night fireworks, but they went into delirious mode in the box and were being crazy. It would have been fine if it were with people that we knew, but these were all new co-workers of Joel's and this was the first time to meet them so we didn't want to overstay our welcome!
We did get a visit from the mascot! That was fun although the boys weren't too happy with the fact that we got the "girl" one! They wanted the boy one! Oh well, they look pretty happy here!

Saturday morning was beautiful! Hudson got a little vegetable garden from the Easter bunny and he could not wait to plant it, so we did that Saturday morning. This was such a fun activity. Hudson wrote the names of all the veggies, planted them all by himself, and he has made sure to water them daily. No progress yet, but hopefully soon! Once they grow large enough, we will transplant them from the egg carton into the ground, so I'm hoping that this will be the start of a little garden for us!

The boys have been begging to get the jumpy out so we did that too! I thought that once we got the trampoline that we could get rid of this, but obviously not! It provided hours of entertainment! Of course, there wasn't a whole lot of actual jumping involved. They kept diving in from the side and were just rambunctious in there! It's only a matter of time before they pop a hole in it. Life with boys!

Hudson had a birthday party mid day so I took him to that. Then it was more outside fun with neighbors before Hudson's baseball game that night. The Cardinals tied--it was a very nerve-wracking game and came down to the last batter! We headed to BAM after that for dinner....our new favorite place! I think everyone is starting to find out about it though! It was SO crowded!

Sunday was church and then an afternoon of sports! Harrison FINALLY got his turn to play for a change! He is playing 3 year old soccer this year. He's our bruiser and actually made the comment that he was going to "take someone down" at his game, but when it came down to it, he was definitely not so sure!

He loved the practice portion of it and he was actually pretty good!

When the game started, he wouldn't stay out there for more than about a minute at a time! He just kept asking when he could get his snack! My kids are always just in it for the snack! Ha!

We bribed him to go back out there one more time and here he is on a break away! About a second after I took this picture, a little kid came up and picked the ball up with his hands and took it away and the moment was lost....but I would call it progress!

We can't wait for this Sunday. He is already talking about it, so maybe he just needs a little time to warm up to the whole idea. 3 year old soccer is absolutely insane, but they are SO cute!

After soccer, we headed to the tail end of Hudson's baseball practice. He has such a great group of boys and dads on his team. We are having a blast.

It was a great weekend! Hoping the rain goes away before this weekend coming up, but it's not looking so good.

Easter Weekend

We have had a great weekend and a wonderful Easter today!

We spent most of Friday afternoon and Saturday morning buying flowers and planting them in our front yard. We know nothing about plants or flowers, so this was a bit of an adventure. We didn't really have to do much at the old house, but in this one, we had a lot of stuff die that won't come back so we had to do something or our neighbors were going to kick us out! I should have taken a picture, but it looks great for now! Let's just hope a week from now it's not all dead. Hudson REALLY got into the gardening. He was such a big helper and when it was all finished, he said, "Don't you need to give me some money or something for helping?" That boy...

We finally got to enjoy the back porch on Friday night. It was SO nice being outside! I think you could spot the boys from a mile away in those bright outfits...

Saturday afternoon, Hudson had an ice skating party to go to. He had never been ice skating before, so it was interesting to say the least! I got the mean mom award for not going out there with him, but I wasn't willing to risk breaking a bone! I have a feeling that ice skating when you are 33 is not quite like it was at 13, which is probably the last time I went! He never let go of that wall and I don't blame him!

6 times around the rink and he was done!

It was actually really fun and I'm glad he got to do something different! He has had so much fun telling everyone about it today.

There was also a balloon person and face painting, so he obviously had fun turning himself into a pirate!
These two have NO personality. :)

The Easter bunny paid us a visit last night and brought a few small goodies!

We tried to take some pictures of the boys before church.

They are getting so big...I have a feeling that this may be my last year to dress Harrison like this. It's going to be a sad day!

 Love this picture...

Church was great. We have a lot to be thankful for and celebrate today!

We hung with buddies before getting our picture taken in front of the cross.

We barely made it without anyone getting dirty! Harrison decided he didn't want to smile the rest of the day and that was fine. At least he was looking, even if he was giving the stink eye!

I love this Reed family photo! Missing Jordan and Anna this year!

Then it was onto my parent's house for another egg hunt, this time with eggs filled with money! And, a wonderful, wonderful lunch.
This was serious business. No stopping to smile for pictures this time!

Just more of the stink eye...

 Sweet brothers!

More stink eye...see what I mean?!?! He was done.

The boys LOVED being with their cousin. And it's almost time for us to be able to start using her to babysit! Woo hoo!

We headed back home for quick naps and then Hudson had a baseball scrimmage. Yes, on Easter. It's hard core here in the Hills! Ha!

After the game, we headed to Migi and Pops to see what the Easter bunny brought there and ate dinner. The boys got a really neat swing that we need to hang up next weekend.

Such a fun day celebrating the resurrection!
